V MAGAZINE issue #69

Ever wonder what it would be like to suddenly be walking amongst supermodels on a busy city street? The upcoming issue of V-Magazine answers that question in a spread called “New Direction”.

The inspiration for this shoot was the future of fashion.

New Direction - Funch

“When we think of the future of fashion, we think slick and cold.  In fact, the next generation of designer is bent on making clothes more ornate, experimental, and intricately decorated to traffic-stopping results” -V Magazine

The self-made, rough-and-tumble glamour of Courtney Love couldn’t feel more of-the-moment. In an ode to the queen of grunge, whose album is out this month, supermodel Natasha Poly piles on the ruffles, prints, and girlish fineries of spring -V Magazine

“One Size Fits All”

Photographed by Terry Richardson from V Magazine (issue #63): “The Size Issue,” featuring top plus-size model and author of “Hungry” Crystal Renn alongside newcomer—and more traditional model body-type—Jacquelyn Jablonski.

V Magazine One Size Fits

Appropriately titled “One Size Fits All,” Richardson’s photo spread showcases Renn and Jablonski side-by-side in identical looks, matching sample size outfits and similar poses. Still, the effect is a powerful one that proves fashion can flatter any figure. Most recently Renn—who has walked the runway for Jean-Paul Gaultier and graced the cover of American Vogue—famously penned her own weight and body image struggles within the model industry in a memoir entitled “Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves,” which was released this fall. -VMagazine

If it’s bright enough, tight enough or eye-poppingly printed enough, odds are it’ll work on any figure. Crystal Renn, model and author of Hungry, and Jacquelyn Jablonski, spring’s new star, show off the season’s most sizzling looks. -vMagazine

I think the ladies look amazing!!

The fact the Crystal is considered a “Plus Size” model; and clearly based on her photos and measurements is a size 6, is a bit disheartening. The fact that real “plus size” women tend to be obese, looking at Crystal and tagging her as plus size must be truly heart breaking for those women.

V63 does not hit newsstands until January 14, 2010.
