Loving the Collar Accessory

October 31st, 2011 No comments

Forget the choker, statement necklace and long necklace this fall’s must have neck accessory is jewelry that mimics exaggerated collars.

To take the collar trend to the level of Estate Jewelry, there’s this stunner from Louis Vuitton!

For something fun and witty, I am loving this collar by Dime Piece:

Yes it says “Bitches be Trippin’ ” – Love it!

LAFW TwoPointOh Kick Off Event

October 13th, 2011 No comments

LA blogger organization, TwoPointOhLA, held its biannual LAFW Pre-party this week.

Sole Society gifted some of their fall favorites:

Clous du Bois provided an endless wine bar!

Nib Nobs are a little guilty pleasure in a few bites!

Imoshion is a LA based handbag line that helps you maximize your bag purchase by designing bags that are season-less.

I fell in love with the Madelyn top handle bag. The best part is the gold chain that make it into a chic little shoulder bag.

The Nikki is also a great versitle evening bag that can convert to a clutch or shoulder bag!

Betsey Johnson jacket, Mason by Michelle Mason cut out leather pants, L.A.M.B shoes and Louis Vuitton bag.

Tonight is the first of 4 nights of LAFW Concept shows… More of LAFW to come!

Divine Design 2010

December 3rd, 2010 No comments

I attended Divine Design last year and shared a bit about it here.

The event starts with a Gala where top donors (monetarily and product) are honored. I attended the Gala dinner this past Thursday, where fabulous trips were auctioned and the booze flowed freely to enhance the bidding!

Marc by Marc Jacobs coat, Louis Vuitton bag, BCBG booties and Target tights.

Vivienne Westwood dress and Anthropologie necklace.

There’s usually a celebrity style honoree, this year it is Kelly Osborne.

Last year I wasn’t actively taking photos and sharing them on my site. Now I can really give you an inside peak at the events surrounding this great charity that supports Project Angel Food.

Inside the Divine Design Gala

My table waaaay in the back

Inside the Divine Design Shop designer donations ranged from Ralph Lauren, Marc by Marc Jacobs, SmashBox Cosmetics and more! Almost every brand you love graciously donated goods to be sold in the name of charity.

Contemporary & Designer Clothing

Fabulous Home Furnishings

Again, Barbie was one of the premier donors with the whole front area dedicated Barbie.

They even had models dressed as Barbie & Ken inside a life size box that you can be photographed with for a small donation. I came back on the second night just to have my photo taken!

Plastic Fantastic!

French Connection dress.

In case you don’t know how it works:

Divine Design is a huge charity shopping event held annually in LA. In support of Project Angel Food which delivers free meals to people with HIV/AIDs, Cancer and other life threatening illnesses, 100% of all the proceeds go to the charity, or in other words, every $5.00 spent provides 1 meal.

Items are originally sold at 50% off retail the first 2 days then drop by 10% each preceding day until items fly off the shelves at 90% off on the final day!! I plan on returning on Sunday for 80% off… I will let you know what I find! I highly recommend that if you are in the L.A. area this weekend that you attend this charity shopping event. The event ends 12/6/10 aka 90% off day!

Do Good & Look Good!

Transition with me

November 3rd, 2010 No comments

I feel this looks is great for transition weather.

Ever skirt, Banana Republic blouse, Louis Vuttion bag and Neiman Marcus belt.

It is soft and light weight, perfect for days in the 70′s.

The tights and booties show that fall is around the corner.

H&M tights and Vincent Comuto booties.

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

October 12th, 2010 No comments

This past weekend I attended the Veuve Clicquot Los Angeles Polo Classic at the Will Rogers State Park. This was my first Polo Classic and I was excited to have a fun glamorous day in the sun.

Although, I read up about the event prior to attending, I was still ill prepared and thus will provide you with:

Cake Not Coke’s Polo Tips!

Umbrella Seating

1) The Obvious: Arrive EARLY. Cannot stress this enough. We did arrive early, but due to traffic up the hill we missed the last “first come first serve” umbrella seating area by 5 mins and were forced into the bleachers or standing!

a) Also, this note is for the general public: If there is signage stating that you cannot park at the park, please do not be selfish and try anyway. The back log of cars being turned away traveling up and down the canyon caused a traffic clog and hindering the shuttle transportation.

The view from the bleachers

2) BYOB: Outside food and beverage was allowed, and we didn’t know. Although, the organizers jumped on the bandwagon of the LA food truck craze and had several on site, they did make sure inflate the price on the a bottle of Champagne.  Next year I will be sure to bring my picnic basket and cooler!

a. Veuve Orange label: Grocery Price $39 Tournament price $90

No $90 doesn't get you the big one!

3) Get on the list! The event was open to the public. Normally with all events I try to network beforehand to try to gain access to any special or VIP perks. This time I completely spaced!

a. VIP was located on the shaded side of the park . No need to arrive early for an umbrella table.

b. Full Bar: I am unaware if the Bar was open or not, but I guarantee the prices were more reasonable.

c. Party! There was music and dancing and seemed like much more of a party then the public side.

d.  Did I mention shade?

The VIP area

I was also very impressed with Polo fashions – sorry I am still a bit too shy to ask strangers for a photo. The men were well suited or dressed rather dapper and dandy! The ladies brought out their Sunday best or garden party dresses.

Straw floppy derby hat, French Connection dress, Pour La Victoire wedges.

I love the one-should bow on this dress! I would have melted without hat coverage!

Louis Vuitton bag, Lia Sophia pearl and stone bracelet and Forever21 belt.
