The Malibu Inn

July 7th, 2011 1 comment

The Malibu Inn is a vintage themed bar/restaurant in Malibu. It is a local favorite and hideout because it doesn’t get the amount of tourist traffic Moon Shadows or Gladstones receives.

On the outside patio bar, a rustic waterfall provides additional ambiance to the already chill environment.

Vintage VW Beetle makes a great and adorable photo booth.

Last week was the Grand Opening event; possibly to welcome new management. It was an amazing event as appetizers and cocktails flowed freely and the entertainment included a hula dancer and a performance by Mr. Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale!

My favorite novelty, the shot cart! Best use of a vintage stroller I’ve ever seen!

Gavin only performed 3 songs, but he took time to take pictures with fans.

French Connection dress, Gucci shoes, Ferragamo bag and mixed accessories.

This gift bag is one of my favorites of the season so far. It included the normal beauty products, this time provided by Sebastian hair care; liquor samples by Maker’s Mark and invites for wine tasting at the Malibu Vineyards. What makes this bag my favorite is the Malibu Inn VIP card which provides the recipient VIP pricing FOR LIFE! The card does not have an expiration date or does not need to be surrendered after use… I will be making good use of the VIP card!

Pink Tube and Lace

This is a good way to wear a cocktail dress during the day, add a feminine layer of lace.

A candid outtake from me vs. camera the timer!

Loving my double finger butterfly ring.

Saturday Mall Crawl

April 20th, 2011 1 comment

Last weekend I swung by my favorite neighborhood mall and got sucked into some of the spring sales.

Macy’s One Day Sale

French Connection dress $268 Sale: $86

I know it’s a bit “tea/garden party”, but hopefully I will find one to wear it too.

I also picked up a few pieces from Macy’s new in-house line Bar III. Those pictures didn’t come out that well, so you’ll just have to wait and see those pieces  styled on an outfit post.

Bloomingdale’s First Offer Sale:

Sam Edelman studded sandal $150.00 Sale $105.00

Now I have a few concerns about this purchase:

  1. Its honestly not that great of a deal, but I knew they wouldn’t make it to the next markdown.
  2. I had an issue with a previous pair of Sam Edelman’s here, but Bloomingdale’s made sure it was a non-issue.
  3. I wish Bloomingdale’s would get it together and begin carrying more size 11′s!  These are a 10 and a bit too short and tight.
  4. So I am not sure if I am going to keep them.

Granted, the Sam Edelman site doesn’t really offer that many styles in 11, but the department stores can make it happen! Plus I would really like to add the shoe below to my shoe collection, but it’s not going to happen with a 10!

Sam Edelman Lorissa in Nude

My Saturday shopping look:

AG striped cropped top and Dolce Vita for Target wedges.

Junior Drake vintage yellow bag and random bracelets.

I kind of like sharing the peak inside the fitting room idea, because honestly that’s where the tough decisions are made. What do you think? Should I share the peak inside the fitting room or save the item pics for future styled post?

Pre Oscar’s with LA Confidential

March 2nd, 2011 No comments

In honor of the Social Network’s Jessie Eisenbergs’ Oscar nomination, LA Confidential hosted an event in his honor in Marina Del Ray.

French Connection dress, Dolce Vita booties and House of Harlow bangles.

Luckily, the rain had subsided but it was still a bit chilly. You can’t even tell I wore the same look to QVC party at the Four Seasons!

Various style suites showcased how to get Oscar fabulous:

Our friends at H.Studio provided their fabulous furnishings.

Moroccan Oil was on hand providing samples and blow outs on the spot!

Jewelry from Charlotte Bjorlin Delia.

Charlotte began to craft  fine jewelry to suit her unique “denim and diamonds” style. “I prefer easy glamour. One day I’ll wear a black satin pencil skirt, cotton tee and flats to work, with my Simple Star pink sapphire studs, the next a 70’s jersey jumpsuit with 4 inch Louboutins and an armful of cuffs and bangles.”

Pre-Oscar Fabulousness with QVC!

March 1st, 2011 1 comment

Last weekend LA was soaked with rain and Oscar glam. The weekend was filled with glamorous and exclusive IT parties and plenty of wannabe parties. I was fortunate to be invited to two IT events. Normally, a fashion lover like myself is dying for opportunities like these, to finally wear fierce looks that have been dying to get out of my closet. Blame it on the rain or the 6 hour flight I took earlier in the week, I was feeling lazy. So two nights, two fabulous events and one fierce look!

I received an invite to a pre-Oscar event hosted by QVC at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. The concept of the event was to have a Hollywood Oscar party while taping an Oscar style themed segment of QVC.

OVC taping

While the Moet poured freely, so did the rain!

The party was held in the beautiful Four Seasons gardens which despite tenting efforts turned into a bit of a swap with stilettos sinking into the earth.

In attendance were Kelsi Smith of Dedicated Follower of Fashion and TwoPointOhLa and the dynamic sister act Melanie Lee of Wrecked Stellar and Rebbecca Lee of Style with Benefits.

Loving Rebeca’s shoes!
