Divine Design 2010

December 3rd, 2010 No comments

I attended Divine Design last year and shared a bit about it here.

The event starts with a Gala where top donors (monetarily and product) are honored. I attended the Gala dinner this past Thursday, where fabulous trips were auctioned and the booze flowed freely to enhance the bidding!

Marc by Marc Jacobs coat, Louis Vuitton bag, BCBG booties and Target tights.

Vivienne Westwood dress and Anthropologie necklace.

There’s usually a celebrity style honoree, this year it is Kelly Osborne.

Last year I wasn’t actively taking photos and sharing them on my site. Now I can really give you an inside peak at the events surrounding this great charity that supports Project Angel Food.

Inside the Divine Design Shop designer donations ranged from Ralph Lauren, Marc by Marc Jacobs, SmashBox Cosmetics and more! Almost every brand you love graciously donated goods to be sold in the name of charity.

Contemporary & Designer Clothing

Fabulous Home Furnishings

Again, Barbie was one of the premier donors with the whole front area dedicated Barbie.

They even had models dressed as Barbie & Ken inside a life size box that you can be photographed with for a small donation. I came back on the second night just to have my photo taken!

Plastic Fantastic!

French Connection dress.

In case you don’t know how it works:

Divine Design is a huge charity shopping event held annually in LA. In support of Project Angel Food which delivers free meals to people with HIV/AIDs, Cancer and other life threatening illnesses, 100% of all the proceeds go to the charity, or in other words, every $5.00 spent provides 1 meal.

Items are originally sold at 50% off retail the first 2 days then drop by 10% each preceding day until items fly off the shelves at 90% off on the final day!! I plan on returning on Sunday for 80% off… I will let you know what I find! I highly recommend that if you are in the L.A. area this weekend that you attend this charity shopping event. The event ends 12/6/10 aka 90% off day!

Do Good & Look Good!

Divine Design is a huge charity shopping event held annually in LA. Put on by Project Angel Food which delivers free meals to people with HIV/AIDs and other life threatening illnesses, 100% of all the proceeds go to the charity, or in other words, every $5.00 spent provides 1 meal.

Divine Design Tickets!

The charity spends almost the entire year working with designers and fashion brands to gain donations to fill the store. This year the event was held on the first floor of the old Robinson’s May in Beverly Hills. The store is packed with merchandise from Marc by Marc Jacobs, 7 for all Mankind, Trina Turk, BCBG, Hanky Panky and Rock & Republic. There were plenty of random one-off jewels including pieces by Oscar De La Renta, Tracey Reese, Geren Ford and even fur coats! Plus many more clothing brands and there was also plenty of swim, cosmetics and home furnishings.

The event sells tickets for $100 for the first night and $25 for the following 4 days. The first day everything is 50% off retail, then 60% the following day, then 70%, then 80% and finally 90% off retail the final day! I went on the 80% off day (my pics are kind of scary so I borrowed some from Racked LA taken on the 2nd day) and I still found the racks to be relatively still full. Tons of denim, swim, Hank Panky and Marc by Marc Jacobs!

Tracey Reese!!

I only picked up 2 pieces – trying to be good. It’s harder to shop for yourself during the holidays… I wish they would host the event twice a year… Because I could do some real damage in June!! I love my Tracey Reese beaded tunic retail price $395, Divine Design price $79! My 7for all Mankind grey wool blazer is a great basic piece to add to my wardrobe, retail price $275, Divine Design price $54.

I am considering going back for the last day, but I was warned that everything is scooped up early in the morning by resellers…

It may still be worth a peek!
