My first breakfast in my new home…

Its funny when you move from a shared home that’s fully stocked to starting on your own… you mainly worry about the large things… Furniture, pots and pans, Wifi… You know the important stuff… But what about all the little things… Cutting boards, dish towels, etc…

So for my first breakfast we broke out the Cuisinart Griddler… It was a house warming gift and although it makes perfect pancakes it is a bit flimsy. The plastic pieces that hold the griddle down snapped off when I tried to take off the plate to wash. Normally I would have run screaming bloody murder to the retailer… It was bought by my grandma who lives in another state and let’s just say she doesn’t know what a gift receipt is… So I am living with a slightly broken Griddler.

What I do love about it is that you can put the second side down and get some bacon going too!

Back to those little things… Well in this case it was mixing bowls and we had to mix our pancakes in a sauce pan!

I understand post have been far and few between the past few months because I’ve been running crazy with a slew of personal changes from getting an amazing new job to purchasing my first home! The latter of the 2 really affect CakeNotCoke as I will be featuring a new segment called Hillary’s Home Décor!

I am starting fresh in my new home and will therefore need to everything from air fresheners to a washer and dryer!

I plan to have post as many design consultations, furniture shopping and DIY/BUY experiences as possible! What I am looking forward to the most is turning our bonus room into a dream closet!! Heck since I will be spending so much time at home, I may even bring back outfit post!

Seaport Village is very family oriented with lots of little gift shops and restaurants that over look the ocean.

We stopped at the Harbor House for lunch where the food was okay, but the views were great. Plus you have the resident ducks tapping on the glass begging for food, kind of like puppies.

I did eventually wonder upon Frosted Robin Cupcakes.

The cupcakes were adorably decorated, but sadly mediocre in taste…

Only downfall to the clothing and shoe selection is that sizes are limited on these one of a kind pieces. So a taller, larger footed gal like myself would have to stick to accessories!

Jewelry – Many styles reflect the colorful tradition of glass art. Yet, I my do find myself drawn to the more contemporary styles.

The Otello wrap necklace is created with “vetrate” beads with a gold surface and black glass filaments that alternate with tiny gold glass beads. Also available in red, this Murano glass necklace can be worn alone or layered with other styles.

I love the mint – which if you haven’t noticed, is THE color for early spring! I also dig how the gold shoe is more of a gold illusion with a myriad color golden shades.

Despite the chicness above, the shoe that got my heart racing are the metallic pink oxfords!
