Blacks and Greys

September 7th, 2010 Hillary 1 comment

One thing about me and my style:

I love greys and blacks…

I do like to wear a lot of color, as you’ve seen, but black and grey are my go to for when I feel like I have nothing to wear.

Michael Stars metallic tunic, H&M jersey cropped “heram-ish” pants and L.A.M.B heels.

Be&D bag, L.A.M.B pumps and H.Studio cuff and bangle.

My Ode to the Power Skirt!

September 1st, 2010 Hillary 3 comments

When I find something I like, I buy in multiples… I have the basic French Connection tube dress in 4 colors and 2 prints… I feel like if it works and looks awesome on, why stop at one!

My newest obsession…

BCBG Power Skirts!

It started with one I picked up on sale, now my collection has grown to 5 different power skirts, equally sexy and fabulous. FYI this is not a BCBG sponsored post! I have picked each of these up on my own. Although, after this, they should put me on payroll!!

Jacquared Power Skirt

BCBG Power Skirt, Express Blazer, Bebe tank and Ralph Lauren pumps.

A possible office  look, featuring a patterned Power Skirt, blazer and pumps.

Striped Textured Power Skirt

BCBG Power Skirt, Olive & Olivia sweater and BCBG pumps.

I love this skirt because the angled cut at the waist gives the appearance of a flat stomach, which I do not have! Now I have a perfect pairing for this cropped sweater! That I also have in black.

Evening Power Skirt Looks

Basic Black Power Skirt

BCBG Power Skirt, yellow silk tank, Proenza Schouler booties, House of Harlow cuffs, H.Studio Cuffs Forever21 belt.

Snake Skin Power Skirt

Snake Skin BCBG Power Skirt, Forever21 tube top, H.Studio cuff and Sam Edelman pumps.

The snake printed skirt is one of my favorites; I don’t think I need to explain why!

The one that started it all!

Purple Power!

BCBG Power skirt, Forever21 lace top and Sam Edelman pumps.

Love! Love! Love! The Power Skirt!

A close up on my new fall pumps…

Sam Edelman York Pumps

Love these! So glam rock!

Sorry if the pictures are a bit sexy. It’s hard to look un-sexy in a Power Skirt! These skirts make you skinny and curvy in all the right places!

Neutral perfection

Until recently, LA was having the coldest summer ever! So I got to keep some of my lightweight layering pieces around a bit longer…

Citizens of Humanity jeans, Michael Stars tank, Joie sleeveless duster and Pour La Victoire wedges.

I picked up these wedges as a summer neutral wedge. I love the style and crossing straps, but the toes push forward a bit to much for my liking.

I picked up this Joie duster earlier this year on uber clearance. I guess Bloomingdale’s really over bought on this one…

Org $268 – My steal $48!!

Kate Spade fold over clutch, Forever 21 scarf and personal vintage bracelet.

Nylon Magazine Denim Issue Party

August 13th, 2010 Hillary No comments

I attended the Nylon Magazine Denim issue release party at the London Hotel in Hollywood this past Tuesday. It was the normal Nylon crowd, hipsters with outfits that required 2-3 days of planning and a sprinkle of industry people enjoying the cocktails and people watching.

Bedrock by Express was the official event denim sponsor and gave out a pair of their new fall jeans to guest at the event.

Express Jeans ultra skinny Stella

I received a pair or their new Stella dark stretch skinny jeans. I like the plain indigo wash and low key pocket embellishment. The fit, was well… You get what you pay for. The denim was rather rough for a stretch and almost felt like a ridged. The crotch was a bit too low, leaving way too much unoccupied space.

But if you don’t mind the fit – they are a good option for a super sleek indigo skinny jean.

I didn’t wear anything special to the event… Just a normal cocktail look, here’s a pic anyway!

Bailey 44 blouse with beaded sleeves, BCBG power skirt, Marciano shoes, H. Studio cuff and Be&D chain link bag.

Prime Find in my Mom’s Closet!

August 10th, 2010 Hillary No comments

Have you ever rummaged through your mom’s closet looking for that sweater she swears she never borrowed – but you know from past experiences it’s buried in the back of her closet – behind the gardening clogs and cargo capris!

Well I recently had that experience – no stolen sweater was found- but instead I made out with something better…

A Roberto Cavalli waist pouch!

I Googled like a mad woman trying to find information on the pouch beside what little information was give on the tag. No luck!

It’s natural untreated leather with gold and onyx and studs, on a adjustable belt.

Not exactly sure what I am going to wear it with…

But you know I will share it with you…  Don’t worry, this was buried so far in the back her closet, she won’t come looking for it any time soon!
