FALLow The Leader: Military Madness

July 29th, 2009 No comments

One of my favorite things about fall fashion is military inspired pieces. Such great detail goes into these pieces: well tailored and form fitting silhouettes, epilates, embroidery, patchwork, buttons, medals and ribbons.

Here are a few of my FAVORITE looks.

Topman fall 2009

Topman fall 2009

Looks like this fall just got a whole lot brighter. Topman is releasing five bold suites into the urban jungle. These suits will come in an array of colors including: lime green, turquoise, magenta, royal blue and eggplant. We LOVE the magenta already! These suits will definitely be eye catchers, but will they contribute awkward silence on elevator ride up to the office?  Find out this fall! The suites will be priced at $500 and are available at Topman boutiques and Topman.com

Roberto Cavalli spring 2010

Roberto Cavalli is one of those designers you either love or hate…or hate to love. I for one am obsessed. The menswear collection for spring 2010 is by far my favorite; it’s all about balancing opposites. He mixes dark rock elements with polished pastels and traditional suiting. Not to be left out are his iconic animal prints, which are composed from industrial metalwear. I absolutely love the collaboration of pastels and dark leather. One of my favorite pieces carried throughout the collection is the “wetsuit” trouser.

feMENinity

Girls guard your Galliano!!! Come spring of 2010 menswear designers give a new definition to the word masculinity with a feMENine twist. Expect to see form fitting & feminine silhouettes: Halters, backless and strapless. Even leggings and skirts in sheer & flashy fabrics, all with a masculine edge. Women have been dressing in menswear for decades. Its time to show the girls that anything they can wear, men can wear better… All with in reason of course. So guys, whether you’re a martini straight up OR with a twist. There are safe ways to experiment with this trend.
