Recently I took a long over due Vegas trip with a girlfriend. Like the majority of Vegas goers I normally stay at some over the top casino resort thing on the strip. You know the gigantic hotels that are self contained ecosystems that on any given summer weekend are temporary homes to tens of thousands.

I decided to do something different and stay  at Rumor Boutique Hotel. Its located across the street from the Hard Rock Casino and brings a bit of chic art deco style in the shadow of the behemoths on the strip!

Once you are past the copper tinted external doors you enter a lobby of chic art deco style.

The entire hotel color scheme was shades of silvers, blacks, purples and greys.

The common area also had some fabulous fun furnishings. This outdoor lounge reminds me of pieces from art/furniture gallery H. Studio here in LA. Except the H.Stud version would have crystals where there are studs!

I would love to have a grand chair like this in my place one day. Probably not in black velvet – most likely a softer yet still modern color.

Although it was nice to stay away from the casino madness. There are a few things Rumor can learn from the big dog casino resorts! Little things like in room cups, CD/AUX mini stereo and of course chest of drawers not a desk! These amenities go a long way!

Otherwise I recommend for a fun different place to stay… Oh yeah, they are dog friendly too!
