Los Angeles Fashion Week is considered an oxymoron to many fashion industry professionals. Despite LA being home to many major fashion labels, which show during NYFW.
This year I originally planned on attending 2 of the 3 nights at Concept, but in the end, I only attended the first night. The Concept show focuses on highlighting new designers in Los Angeles and was held in the beautiful Ace Gallery. The designers for the evening were Chemline and LAVUK, both focused on ecco friendly fabrics and concepts.
Overall I wasn’t impressed with either line. Most of our star designers are plucked from the city and sent to NYC or work in house for major label. I am not that enthusiastic about while writing this because I attended a spectacular LAFW charity event called Hope in the City last night that I will tell you about later this week.
