Vanity Fair September ’09

Toujours Couture

Like all of my fellow fashion lovers… I have a stack of September issues to go through!

While wrapping up my Vanity Fair (I received the issue with Michael Jackson on the cover instead of Farrah may they R.I.P)  nestled in the back of magazine was great piece on the history, evolution and future of Haute Couture.

Not only did the article feature the begin and rise of such greats as Coco Chanel, Charles Fredrick Worth and Christian Dior , but also featured great vintage fashion photos which I am experiencing an increased appreciation for.

Vanity Fair is always a good read… Interesting enough, I do like reading the monthly Madoff updates.

Of all of the major fashion/lifestyle magazines I feel Vanity Fair and GQ are the best reads.. the rest you can thumb through and stare at the spreads and read the caption highlights…

    What about you?

My favorite house of couture? Chanel, definitely. Though when it comes to runway spectacle, Dior is a close second.
    Doutzen looks stunning there.
